How to install plugins on your Minecraft server
Add plugins like EssentialsX, LuckPerms and Geyser to a Paper server from Modrinth, Hangar or SpigotMC, without uploading files.

Plugins add features to your server, like homes and teleports, land claims, ranks or minigames. Unlike mods, players don't need to install anything: plugins run only on the server, so everyone joins with normal Minecraft.
1. Use a Paper server
Plugins need a plugin server such as Paper. Open Versions in the panel and check Currently running. If it is Fabric, Forge or Vanilla, choose Paper and install it (make a backup first).
2. Install a plugin
- Open Plugins in the panel's sidebar.
- Search by name, for example "EssentialsX".
- Choose a source: Modrinth, Hangar or SpigotMC.
- Open the plugin and click Install. Only versions that work with your Minecraft version are shown.
- Click Restart now in the bar that appears.
Good plugins to start with
| Plugin | What it does |
|---|---|
| EssentialsX | /home, /spawn, /tpa and other everyday commands |
| LuckPerms | Ranks and permissions for players |
| GriefPrevention | Players claim land so nobody can break their builds |
| CoreProtect | See who broke a block and roll back griefing |
| Geyser + Floodgate | Lets Bedrock players on phones join, see the Bedrock guide |
| Chunky | Pre-generates the world so exploring is smoother |
Change plugin settings
Each plugin creates its own folder with a config.yml inside /plugins after the first restart. Open it in the panel's Files page, edit, save and restart the server.
Update or remove plugins
The Installed tab on the Plugins page lists your plugins, with one-click update and remove. Restart the server afterwards.
